Awards Event 2014

On the 15th of October 2014 over 600 guests and innovators from around New Zealand came together to celebrate the country’s top innovators, organisations and teams at SHED 10 on Auckland’s Waterfront.

We are pleased to announce the Supreme New Zealand Innovator for 2014 is Precision Seafood Harvesting, a new, sustainable fishing technology that will change the way New Zealand, and eventually the world, fishes. The new harvest technology, Modular Harvesting System has a break-through design sees fish contained and swimming in a large flexible PVC liner. Holes in the liner allow small fish to escape at depth and, once on the deck, any off-target fish are able to be returned to the sea alive and unharmed.
Special thanks also goes to Hon. Steven Joyce and Dr. Jacqueline Applegate, Chairman and Managing Director Bayer ANZ. And to the New Zealand Innovators Awards Team; Idealog, Ideas Accelerator Ltd, the New Zealand Innovation Council Ltd and the many other partners and sponsors that have made these awards possible.
